Flash Mob Dance

I hosted our second annual Flash Mob dance for the Art of Recovery Expo on September 22, 2012. This Expo is a free, annual event, offering education, resources and solutions for addictions and behavioral health to the Arizona community. (http://www.artofrecoveryexpo.com/)
Our dance choreographer from the previous Flash Mob dance was unable to lead the dance this year, because his dance crew, the Elektrolytes had won Americas Best Dance Crew and they were touring. I ended up meeting this years dance choreographer, Deanna while taking her Zumba class at my local gym! I asked her if she would be willing to put together dance moves for a Flash Mob. She gladly accepted. She chose the song, 'Go Your Own Way' by Fleetwood Mac and we practiced every weekend for about a month. During one practice a lady showed up, who had driven over 2 hours, to be a part of our dance. Another woman showed up to practice and asked if she could be a part of our Flash Mob because it was on her bucket list to do before she died. Adults and children both attended and practiced the dance moves.
When we arrived at the Phoenix Convention Center the morning of the dance, we picked the isle we would dance down and gave the music to the sound guy, to blast over head as soon as the first recovery speaker, John Bradshaw was leaving the stage. My daughter, Madison was at the front of the dance motioning us in, with her arms outstretched, as the song began. If you watch the video, there is a man standing by her who doesn't know she is about to start dancing and he unexpectedly gets tapped in the head by her arm. His reaction is pretty funny.
The energy and thrill that was exuded from all of us dancing was contagious! It was so much fun! After the dance we all just blended in with the many people that were there, but the noise buzz that continued from the bystanders continued for several minutes after the dance. The energy in that enormous room was exuberant!
I can hardly wait to do it again next year. Enjoy the video, I bet it will make you smile :)
I would like to thank my son, Chase for taping the Flash Mob dance and editing this video for everyone's enjoyment.
