Motivational Interviewing Questions for New Years 2013
Submitted by Elisabeth_Davies on

Motivational Interviewing is an effective strategy used by many treatment providers in the behavioral health industry. It lowers the recipients defensiveness, by promoting self reflection and invoking problem solving thinking. Here are some great Motivational Interviewing questions for New Years. You can answer them, or ask them to someone you are seeking to have a more connected relationship with. I asked these questions to my teenagers and husband today and it led to wonderful dialogue.
1. What experiences did you go through in 2012 that changed you? Explain
2. What was something you learned about yourself in 2012?
3. What were some accomplishments you were proud of yourself for in 2012?
4. What are your priorities for 2013? 5. How will you follow through with these?
6. How will you make a positive difference in someone’s life in 2013?
7. What will you do to grow spiritually in 2013?8. What is one good thing you want to be able to say about yourself at the end of 2013?
Your choices are evidence of who you are as a person.
Become a better you each year!
Answering these is a thoughtful way to bring in the New Year, learning more about family or friends :) Grow closer relationships in 2013 by taking the time to share yourself and listen to others share.Elisabeth Davies, MC
